Power Blogger Goals

I have an idea for a plugin. I’ve outlined a lot of the functionality, but I’m calling on a team of dev’s to help me build and launch the thing.

Calling on WordPress Developers

At the moment I don’t have the time needed to dedicate to a project like this. I’m looking for anyone interested in collaborating on this project, so we can release it to the community. Joint credit will be given, but the plugin will be GPL’d and free to download.

The Idea

If you’re a serious blogger, you’re going to be scheduling posts. Which seems like simple functionality, but it’s one of the more awesome things that sets WordPress apart.

The problem is, there is no easy way to visualize your scheduled posts. Lately, I have been posting a few weeks in advance, and it’s frustrating that I can’t see my schedule. I have to look at the columns which you can see in the screenshot below.

Balancing the number of posts, their live dates, and my goals to post 2 or 3 times a week, is really challenging and inefficient using these columns.

Power Blogger Goals

This plugin will have several features that will drastically help the power blogger.

Interested In Getting Involved

If you’re interested in getting involved, I’d love to hear from you. Comment below, tweet me: @professor or email me: me @ jes.se.com

I would like to get this plugin up, running and in the directory sooner than later.

  1. I agree that the current layout is not helpful, visually. Having a calendar will definitely help!! I would totally use this 🙂

  2. Awesome idea @professor! As a manager of more than 60 blogs for clients, I can really see the value of this tool. I like the fact that you can set goals that remind you when you’ve got a deadline looming. Plus, visualizing the calendar would be extremely useful to keep a content strategy in order. I hope it gets developed!
