I love the idea of more and more web apps taking precedent over desktop apps. TinyPNG made by Voormedia allows you to upload up to 20 .png’s to be converted from 24bit to 8bit while maintaining transparency and quality. This means we are going to see a big decrease in file size.
Below is a screenshot of the png’s I used in the theme for my book Web Designers Guide to WordPress. I’ve decreased the size of these images by 65% and we all know how important every kb can be when optimizing a site for speed.
